We want to share the latest update from the Fredericksburg Police Department:

“The Fredericksburg Police Department has made contact with the individuals involved in the reported situation at Fredericksburg Middle School. At this time, we do not believe there is an active threat to the campus.

Out of an abundance of caution, officers will maintain a police presence at the school for the remainder of the day while the investigation continues.

We appreciate the cooperation of school staff and families as we work to ensure the safety of our community.”

Dear FMS Families and Staff,

I am writing to inform you that today, March 13, 2026, we received a report that someone overheard students talking about a possible threat involving violence at our campus.

School administrators immediately began investigating and contacted law enforcement. We have identified the students connected to the report. Law enforcement has obtained the students’ information and is conducting active investigations with the students and their families.

Out of an abundance of caution, we will have an increased police presence on and around campus today while the investigation continues.
